Formed in 2009 in Lisbon, the Portuguese band PAUS breaks all moulds from their unusual formation: two drummers that act as the motor of the band, bass and an arsenal of keyboards that create the multiple textures of their sound, that moves between experimental and pop with tropical influences, psychedelia and hints of the hardcore past of some of its members. Something that is absolutely obvious in their live shows, one of Paus’ strengths and the key to their success at the best festivals in their country and that opened the door for them to Primavera Sound festival two years running, as well as opening for bands of the calibre of Health, Radiohead and Caribou. Until now the quartet have release an EP on Enchufada (Buraka Som Sistema’s label) in 2010 and a debut album on Valentim de Carvalho in 2001 which took them to number three on the Portuguese charts. 2014 sees their second LP dropping on El Segell del Primavera in the entire world… except Portugal.

THE GROWLERS‘ new EP „Gilded Pleasures“ is a sweet new little brother to „Hung At Heart“ that is fresh, plump and ready to slap. The band has put together 9 songs whittled down from 13 in under two weeks. „Gilded Pleasures“ has an R&B makin‘ out on mushrooms feel that accompanies their previous release perfectly. It was recorded and co-produced at an old pump house in Topanga Canyon by Kyle Mullarky and THE GROWLERS. Mullarky has been an influence and big brother to them from the beginning, especially his work with The Grand Elegance and the Abigails. Two bands that had helped prepare Mullarky for confined corners with the infamous Big Kids Los Growlers.

The origins of modern psychedelic five-piece ANTIMATTER PEOPLE came from the mind of musician and songwriter Yehan Jehan, who has been composing songs under the moniker ANTIMATTER PEOPLE since 2005. After five years of experimenting alone, it was only in 2010 that Yehan felt ready to share his projects with others. This coincided with his friends Elliott Arndt (flute, percussion, sampler, formerly, drums) and Mikko Hirvikallio (guitar, keys) moving to London from Luxembourg. The three became five after they met bassist Spencer Lezaja and drummer Callum Brown. Together they played a series of critically acclaimed shows, attracting plaudits online for their remarkable tracks „Mossy Grounds“ and „Only Ark“. ANTIMATTER PEOPLE’s sound takes a refreshing approach to rock psychedelia. taking influences from classical, rock, hip-hop and film scores, the band has developed an eclectic an inbcredibly accomplished sound for a band so early on in their career.
