Sinkane @ CarréRotondes, 18 April 2013

SINKANE is the project of the Sudanese-born musician Ahmed Gallab. Gallab cut his own teeth as a youngster in the punk DIY landscape of middle America, and then found himself touring far and wide as a member of Yeasayer, Caribou, Eleanor Friedberger, Born Ruffians, and Of Montreal.

He has emerged from it all as Sinkane, a project that identifies a renaissance within the space and spirit of the outposts of contemporary music.

With an aesthetic range seamlessly shifting from soul to rock, and from jazz to pop, SINKANE‘s vibe is timeless and the sound is now. In January 2013, he will share the stage with legendary NY band, ESG, who also know one thing or two abound blending influences and styles. Source
